I am very proud of my Nations work in this run of the river project, I have heard a lot of negative comments about these projects from self appointed experts, this proves if you do these projects in the proper way working with the land and the people who are the stewards of that land things can work out right.
International guests visited the Sechelt Creek and Bear Hydro Clowhom electric projects. Dignitaries from California including Senators Darrel Steinberg and Ted Gaines, United States House Representatives Ken Cooley and Ezilda Samoville, Director Senate Office of International Relations were accompanied by Cassie Doyle, Consul General of Canada and Geoff Reid, Political/Economic Specialist; US Consulate Vancouver, Powerex, CEO Teresa Conway and Rob Campbell, Managing Director; Clean Energy BC Loch McJannett and Paul Kariya as well as representatives from Capstone Infrastructure and Regional Power.

In 2008 I went to Cowichan to the North American Indigenous Games, I was wondering at the time about our future as Aboriginal People, there wasn't many young people stepping up to become leaders and the general mood was that there wasn't much hope for the future, after being there for the games and feeling the excitement of the young people I went home and made this video, today I see our young people beginning to step up and take there place in there in there communities, today I have lots of hope for us

Yesterday I was in Sechelt and met up with Andrew Puglas, we went up to the longhouse and he sang a song that he had wrote for Sechelt, I did the carvings of the totems in the mid nineties, it was sure nice to be back in the longhouse, I will be doing videos of the stories of the totems and building of the longhouse over the next few months, being there brought back beautiful memories of things I did with the Elders over the years, a lot of them have passed on which makes the memories more special

I was in my home village of Sechelt today and met up with Sid Quinn who heads up the fisheries department, he told me about some of the successes they have had this year, the following video is of one of those successes, the video clearly shows that if you do things right a "run of the river" project can improve our environment and create sustainable jobs.

I made this movie to brand the word "KLAHOWYA" it is now used all the time by AtBC, and gave the name to the Klahowya village in Stanley Park, I am sure AtBC took the credit for it, but it came from this video that I made, it took two years for AtBC to spell it right, but finally my vision came through, we now have a word that belongs to all Aboriginal people anywhere, its not really important where it came from but our industry needs to give credit for things individuals do
